WhatsApp has announced some major new updates consisting of WhatsApp Communities, Emoji Reactions, 2GB file sharing, and more.
WhatsApp just announced some new updates for the coming months. Your basic chat app will become a lot more interesting, especially if you engage in a lot of group interactions. The biggest addition is the Community feature that finally reaches WhatsApp after years of anticipation. In addition, WhatsApp also brings some additional intuitive features to make the whole chat experience more exciting. If you use WhatsApp a lot, be prepared to spend even more of your precious time on this app in the future.
Communities comes as the biggest feature update to WhatsApp in a long time. With Community, WhatsApp wants to help organizations such as schools, local clubs and non-profit organizations to better align their conversations. “Communities on WhatsApp allow people to bring separate groups together under one umbrella with a structure that works for them. That way, people can get updates sent to the entire community and easily organize smaller discussion groups about what’s important to them,” WhatsApp says.
WhatsApp get BIG updates
“Communities will also include powerful new tools for administrators, including announcement messages that will be sent to everyone and control over which groups can be included,” added WhatsApp. “We think Communities will make it easier for a school principal to bring all the parents of the school together to share updates they need to read and set up groups about specific classes, extracurricular activities, or volunteer needs.”
In addition to communities, WhatsApp also brings a number of new features that allow them to communicate in groups. These features will be rolled out in the coming weeks.
Emoji comments, just like how it exists on Facebook and iMessage, is coming to WhatsApp. That’s why people can now share their opinion or express their reaction without flooding chats with new messages. The comments will be visible as emojis at the bottom of a particular post.
Group admins can now remove “wandering or problematic” messages from anyone’s chats in a group. This gives the group admins more power to better manage a particular group of people.
Have you always wanted to send large PDF files weighing GB via WhatsApp? Now you can. WhatsApp now allows users to share up to 2 GB of files in groups. This is done to help people collaborate more easily on new projects.
Voice calls in WhatsApp groups can now add up to 32 participants to one call. The user interface will be completely redesigned and should help to host quick lessons via WhatsApp.
