Smite is getting Slipknot skins and music later this month

Smite, a free-to-play MOBA, has revealed what is arguably the most bizarre crossover yet, revealing that all nine current Slipknot members are joining the game.

Revealed in a YouTube video, Slipknot comes to Smite in the form of nine skins spanning three different gods. Sid Wilson, Corey Taylor and Craig Jones are Poseidon skins, Jim Root, Alessandro Venturella and Mick Thomson are Chaac skins and Micheal Pfaff, Jay Weinberg and Clown are Raijin skins.

It was also revealed in a blog post at Knotfest that the Smite X Slipknot event will feature a dynamic music pack. The music pack contains ‘Duality’, ‘Psychosocial’ and ‘The Devil In I’ in one music pack. As players perform actions such as kills or destroy targets, the music pack plays different sections of each song and rotates during the match to keep the music fresh.

Smite X Slipknot will be available this month and Smith announced that the Update 9.5 show will take place on Twitch on May 11 at 12pm PT / 3pm ET. The show should provide more details on when Slipknot is coming to the game and how much all Slipknot items can cost. Smite has previously done crossovers with other properties such as Transformers, Stranger Things and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Smite’s past crossovers have come in the form of battle pass skins, but the Slipknot event has not been officially confirmed as a battle pass. Smite’s current battle pass runs through May 17.
