Fitment Factor Increment 2023: Just a few days ago, on February 3, 2023, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the budget for 2024. From this budget, the fitment factor of central employees is expected to increase soon through the Finance Minister. At present, the situation is not completely clear as to when the fitment factor will be increased, but it is certain that the dearness allowance of central employees will actually increase in DA during the month of March. The figures of DA increasing in March will now be revealed soon. Therefore, the benefit of increase in allowance can be passed on to about one crore central employees and pensioners.

As mentioned, the DA (Dearness Allowance) of central employees is increased every time by looking at the AICPI. All India Consumer Products Index is that index which increases DA of government employees only after seeing the rising inflation within the country. In December 2022, it increased from 34% to 4% and 38%.
This can be revised in March and it is estimated that it will increase further by 3% which will be 41%. Thus, if the basic salary of an employee is ₹ 25000, then his income can be increased by ₹ 750 per month at the rate of 3 percent and his gross income (gross salary) can be ₹ 9000 on an annual basis.

Till now the government has not paid DA for 18 months to the government employees. Due to which displeasure is increasing among various personnel. So it is being speculated that in the next few days the government will increase the dearness allowance by about 41%, this news will now give some relief to the central employees.
As we said, DA is calculated from the data of All India Consumer Products Index That Index. There was a slight decrease in December as compared to November, due to which the AICPI which was 133.3 in November has now come down to 125.0 in December.
If the AICPI figures are reduced, there is hardly any improvement in the Dearness Allowance. Earlier it was being estimated that DA could be increased by 4%, but due to the decrease in AICPI figures, it is now being estimated that DA will be increased only by 3%, overall it can be said that in the month of March DA i.e. dearness allowance of government employees can be increased by 3%.
