Champion of Caldera LTM

A new mode is coming to Caldera for the mid-season update. This solo mode will feature up to 150 players and a single, continuously closing circle. All players enter with their custom gear, a gas mask, and a single Redeploy Extraction Token. Additionally, kills in this mode instantly replenish players’ health, gear, and ammo, encouraging players to play aggressively.

Fast travel system

One of the major changes in Warzone’s mid-term update is the new fast travel system on Caldera. This new underground transit system will feature 14 entry points, indicated on the Warzone Tac map and minimap by a silver “vault door” symbol.

Fast travel in Caldera sounds similar to traveling on the metro in Verdansk. To travel to another hub area via minecart, players simply need to interact with the round hatch and walk to the cart. When you do this, the name of the quick travel destination appears on the screen. After a few seconds of travel time, the player will immediately appear at its destination. With light and sound clues, players can find out if an enemy is waiting on the other side of the fast travel location, or if the circle collapse will soon engulf the destination. A green light means it’s safe to travel fast, but anything else can indicate potential danger.

New advantage

Season 3 Reloaded also introduces a new perk for Warzone. Vanguard’s Serpentine Perk is added to help players sprint across the map more safely, as sprinting with the Serpentine Perk reduces incoming damage from bullets, explosives, and fire by 20%. Players who shoot an enemy with Serpentine will receive a “snake” indicator letting them know to deal more damage.

New Loot Items

Three new lootable items will be added to Warzone: the Gulag Entry Token, Redeploy Extraction Token, and Speed Boost items.

The Gulag Entry Tokens can be found in supply boxes for standard Battle Royale matches. With these tokens, eliminated players can still stand a chance in the gulag, if they hold a gulag entry token. The Redeploy Extraction Token works the same way. With this token, eliminated players can immediately return to the fight and bypass the gulag. And finally, Speed Boost is another rare item that will show up in some supply boxes. The Speed Boost item automatically grants a player a temporary movement boost.

High-Quality Loot Zones

The valuable loot zones originally included in Season 3’s Operation Monarch limited-time mode are now available in standard Battle Royale matches. These high-quality loot zone locations will be random each match, but the areas will be marked with a dollar sign and offer higher quality loot.

Rebirth Island in-game event

Warzone’s smaller map is also getting an in-game event that ties into the story of Season 2’s Reinforced event. The Occupation Scan event is vague, but Activision says that at one point during standard Rebirth Resurgence matches, players can be warned about an ‘Occupation Scan’. At this point, they must move forward, otherwise their position will be revealed to every other player on the Tac map and minimap.

This appears to be a new event for map changes or even a brand new map, as the publisher says the Occupancy Scan should keep players “even more alert on an island they may need to escape from…”

Additionally, Activision says Season 3 Reloaded will feature plenty of quality of life updates, including a new “Squad heads-up display,” the details of which the publisher says will be revealed in patch notes before the major update.

For Vanguard’s mid-season update brings a new operator, weapon and multiplayer map. Sphere is described as a small multiplayer map set in a weapons lab. Season 3 Reloaded’s new weapon is the H4 Blixen Submachine Gun, which is described as a pistol that offers mobility and accuracy in medium-range combat. This weapon can be unlocked for free with a weapon challenge or can be purchased with a cosmetic bundle.

And finally, Kim Tae Young is the last Operator of Task Force Harpy in Season 3. She becomes available to unlock by purchasing her Operator Bundle. Tae Young is described as a masked fighter, whose weapon of choice is the new H4 Blixen submachine gun.
