Most of us know that Lucifer is one of the many names used for the Satan/Devil, as is Lucifer Morningstar from the drama series of the same name.

The show has a total of 6 seasons, which aired from 2016 to 2021, and revolves around Lucifer, the fallen angel, his angel brother Amenadiel and several other fantasy creatures.

In addition to the fantasy elements, this show also contains many crimes, which are solved by Lucifer and Detective Chloe.

Now that we’ve established that Lucifer Morningstar is a fallen angel, we can all agree that an angel’s wings are a very important part, so it’s not surprising that Lucifer’s wings feature in several episodes of the show. .

Why did Lucifer lose his wings?

Early in the story, Morningstar decides to give up his role as a devil and defy his father, God, by going to Earth.

But even after his fall, Lucifer retains his wings, and since he wanted to sever all connections with his father, Lucifer decides to cut his wings off.

Let’s make this clear – yes, he could have just hidden his wings, but when he came to Earth, Lucifer wanted complete control of his life, unlike his past where his father controlled everything.

Lucifer had Mazikeen, one of the most loyal lieutenants of his diabolical past, cut off his wings and kept them in a secret container that was later stolen.

While retrieving his stolen severed wings, Morningstar burns the wings.

When will Lucifer get his wings back?

In the final episode of the second season, Lucifer woke up in a desert with wings restored after being knocked out by someone/something.

In the first episode of Season 3 called “They’re Back, Aren’t They?” Lucifer and Chloe try to do their own investigation into why he woke up with his wings after cutting them off completely.

Amenadiel, his angelic brother, tried to convince him that this is their father’s act of forgiveness towards Lucifer, but he rejects this idea.

After a thorough investigation, the police made an attempt to get hold of the man who kidnapped Lucifer and found that his kidnapping had been orchestrated by the sinner.

Even though he wanted to get rid of them, Lucifer’s restored wings become very important to him, even saving his and Chloe’s lives on many occasions.

For example, in the Season 3 finale, the men led by Marcus Pierce start shooting at Chloe, and Lucifer spreads his wings and successfully saves her and his life.

Lucifer’s wings also change in appearance as he goes through emotional stages, being celestial and angelic when with Chloe, and becoming very dark and demonic after he started dating Eve again.
