The handsome and huge looking Kane Hodder is the man behind the mask of Jason Vorhees from the “Friday the 13th” franchise.
Apart from this role, he has been a stuntman and actor for over 30 years.
Kane Hodder is a very popular stuntman and actor in Hollywood, especially among the horror fans, for his portrayal of Jason Voorhees.
However, his acting career began long before joining the “Friday 13th” franchise.
He made his first step into Hollywood in 1974, with his debut in “California Split”.
Shortly thereafter, Kane landed several television roles in films such as “Streets of Hollywood,” “Hardbodies” and “Prison,” before being cast in the role of Jason Voorhees in 1988.
Hodder continued to portray masked serial killer Jason Voorhees in the 1989, 1993 and 2020 sequels.
Another major acting role of Kane is in “Alligator II: The Mutation”.
He will also be part of the main cast for the upcoming 2022 movie “Junction Murders”, and will return to the horror world as the Leatherface in the upcoming video game “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre”.
On the other hand, Kane Hodder is even more famous for his stuntman roles, which he started in 2000.
Hodder has performed stunts for more than 100 films to date and has also been the stunt coordinator for many of them, including the 2006 horror film “Hatchet” and its two 2010 and 2013 sequels.
This is how tall Kane Hodder really is
After seeing his terrifyingly large character Jason Voorhees, you have to wonder how tall Kane Hodder really is.
Despite several sources claiming that Hodder stands at 6’5″ ft, the actor has not really confirmed this.
And if we compare him to his fellow speakers in many interviews, the length of which we do know, it’s easy to say that Kane Hodder is in the 6’2″ range, maybe 6’3″.
We know for sure that Kirzinger, who also played Jason Voorhees, is 6 feet tall, so seeing the two side by side makes it easy to calculate the difference.
Why Kane Hodder is undoubtedly the best Jason Voorhees?
We should start this discussion by noting that Kane Hodder is the only man who portrayed Jason Voorhees in more than one movie in this franchise.
His first appearance was in 1988 “Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood”, soon followed by “Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan” and “Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday”.
After a very long hiatus, Kane Hodder returned as the masked horror man in the 2020 comic book movie “Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash” where he faced the dredge Greddy Krueger.
The role of Jason Voorhees is quite tough to perform as the character goes through hell as a kid.
At the beginning of the “Friday 13th” franchise, Jason Voorhees drowned in a lake at age 11 (so everyone thought).
However, he survived and spent many years in the forests around the lake, feeding on animals and waiting for his revenge.
This kind of anger is hard to channel, and Kane Hodder has done an amazing job decapitating, hacking and giving people eternal nightmares.
In 2011, Kane Hodder wrote an autobiographical book called “Unmasked: The True Story of the World’s Most Prolific Cinematic Killer”, in which he talked about his stunts and every other aspect of his personal life.
Now be honest: who else gave you nightmares, Freddy or Jason Voorhees?
