The popular drama “Lucifer” has changed our way of understanding the Christian religion as it contains many elements from the Bible, such as Lucifer himself, as well as many fallen angels and good angels.

The show revolves around Lucifer, the fallen angel who gave up his position as sovereign of hell to go to Earth.

This suits him well, as he makes contact with Detective Chloe, whom he eventually falls in love with.

Who is Amenadiel from “Lucifer” and is he based on an angel?

Amenadiel is Lucifer’s older brother, and the eldest angel of God, and he serves as his right-hand man.

Amenadiel is responsible for watching over his brother Lucifer, and after Lucifer falls like an angel and becomes a human, Amenadiel follows him so he can observe and help him.

While many elements of this TV series are actually inspired by religion, the inspiration for Amenadiel still remains a mystery.

From a philological point of view, the name of the angel Amenadiel is composed of three words that are often used in the Christian religion – “amen”, “ad”, “El”.

This compound noun can be roughly translated as “Truth/Assurance of God”.

Another sign that Amenadiel was taken from the Bible is the fact that this character fulfills all the duties that the Archangels Michael and Gabriel have in the Bible.

However, this simply means that Amenadiel was inspired by the Christian angels, but not necessarily an actual angel.

Amenadiel’s character may also be based on the Great Commander Amenadiel who fought against a demon army in the magical book “Theurgia-Goetia” from the seventeenth century.

DB Woodside, the “Lucifer” eldest angel

Actor David Bryan Woodside, 52, was born and raised in Queens, New York.

He has recently been in the media spotlight for his amazing portrayal of Amenadiel, an angel and one of the main characters of the “Lucifer” series.

However, DB’s acting career began long before he landed this role.

David’s debut television roles were in the 1997 criminal television series called “Murder One” and “Murder One: Diary of a Serial Killer”.

Over the next decade, DB mainly appeared in TV series rather than movies, including series “The Temptations”, “The Division” and “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”.

In 2003, he was finally cast as the main character for “24”, which he portrayed until 2007.

DB went on to have a string of small roles in numerous TV series, all of which helped him land the role of Malcolm in the 2011 “Single Ladies” series.

His next major role was in 2014, when he joined the cast of “Suits”, before becoming the angel Amenadiel in 2016 in “Lucifer”.
